WHO WE ARE
Coven of the Tree Star is an initiatory Wiccan coven located in the beautiful Ozarks. We follow an Eclectic Green path, we honor & work with a biome of spirits, and we grow spiritually. We celebrate nature through ritual observance of the Wheel of the Year and the lunar cycles.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to help members experience spiritual evolution, to recognize and deepen our relationship to ourselves, our environment, and Deity. Our academic program ensures a wide variety of topics are introduced and skills & techniques are learned so our members are knowledgeable and experienced.
What do these words mean?
Coven - A group of people who work and celebrate together, a spiritual family with close-knit ties.
Initiatory - One where you have to work for the knowledge you will gain. There is progressive learning, you learn to walk before you ride a bike. Also, there is learning that will not happen out of a book but from experiences facilitated by and shared with coven members.
Wicca - This coven seeks to understand the beginnings of Wicca and place it in its context. We do not place it upon a pedestal, it is not the ONE TRUE WAY TO BE PRACTICED ALWAYS AND FOREVER, but it is a good foundation on which the coven can thrive. We follow the Wiccan Rede (An it harm none, do what you will), understanding that it is a rede, and understanding that energy sent forth will affect you in the present and future.
Eclectic - This means we explore multiple areas of religion, magic, and occult science/art and are not bound to do things in only one way or a traditional way. We do have our own traditions that we have inherited and some are rework over time.
Green - Means we honor the Earth and seek to cohabitate in our environment, not to rule over it. We study herbs, holistic healing (not to minimize the importance of modern medicine, but to complement it), natural history, biology, and the spiritual biome around us.
